Question 1

What exactly is Last Annex?

Accepted Answer

Last Annex is a creative studio specializing in bespoke footwear, garment reconstruction, and wearable art. We transform familiar products into one-of-one pieces that tell a personal story through craftsmanship, materials, and design.

Question 2

What’s the difference between a custom sneaker and a bespoke experience?

Accepted Answer

A custom sneaker focuses on transforming an existing product through techniques such as reconstruction, material replacement, dyeing, or storytelling elements. A bespoke experience is a more collaborative and curated process, where we work closely together to develop a unique piece tailored to your aesthetic, story, and objectives. While the foundation may be an existing silhouette, the final result is designed specifically for you.

Question 3

How does the process work from start to finish?

Accepted Answer

Every project begins with a conversation. We discuss your ideas, inspirations, and goals, develop a creative direction, source materials if necessary, execute the piece by hand, and deliver a finished product accompanied by documentation of its creation.

Question 4

Who is your ideal client?

Accepted Answer

Our clients appreciate craftsmanship, storytelling, and individuality. They value quality over quantity and see fashion as a form of personal expression.

Question 5

What makes Last Annex different from other customizers?

Accepted Answer

We don’t simply decorate products-we reconstruct narratives. Every project is approached through the lens of design, product development, craftsmanship, and storytelling to create pieces that feel intentional and timeless.

Question 6

Are these wearable or more like art pieces?

Accepted Answer

Both. Every project is designed to be wearable, but many clients also choose to display their pieces as collectible works of art.

Question 7

Do you work on garments too, or only sneakers?

Accepted Answer

In addition to footwear, we work with garments, accessories, and select creative projects that align with our design philosophy.

Question 8

Can you source the sneakers for me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can source both current and select archival or hard-to-find models depending on availability and project requirements.

Question 9

Can you create something completely unique for me?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Our specialty is creating one-of-one pieces tailored to each client’s story, aesthetic, and objectives.

Question 10

How much creative freedom do I have?

Accepted Answer

As much or as little as you’d like. Some clients arrive with a complete vision, while others prefer to trust our creative direction.

Question 11

What if I don’t know exactly what I want?

Accepted Answer

That’s completely fine. Part of our process is helping clients discover and develop ideas that translate into meaningful products.

Question 12

Can you match a specific theme, story, event, or personal memory?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Some of our strongest projects begin with personal experiences, cultural references, milestones, or emotional connections.

Question 13

Can I use my own materials or garments?

Accepted Answer

In many cases, yes. We frequently incorporate personal garments, jerseys, fabrics, and other meaningful materials into our projects.

Question 14

Can you incorporate jerseys, vintage garments, or sentimental items?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Reconstructing existing materials into new forms is one of our favorite ways to preserve stories and create meaningful objects.

Question 15

How do you ensure the design doesn’t look overdone?

Accepted Answer

We prioritize balance, restraint, and thoughtful design. Our philosophy is to create pieces that stand out because of their intention, not because they are excessively decorated.

Question 16

Can you show examples of previous projects?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our portfolio features a selection of past projects that demonstrate our range of techniques, materials, and creative approaches.

Question 17

What materials do you use?

Accepted Answer

We work with premium leathers, suedes, textiles, technical fabrics, vintage materials, and specialty components sourced specifically for each project.

Question 18

Are the materials better than what comes on the original shoe?

Accepted Answer

In many cases, yes. We prioritize quality materials selected for both aesthetic value and durability.

Question 19

How durable are your customs?

Accepted Answer

Our projects are built to be worn and enjoyed. Durability depends on the techniques and materials used, which we discuss with each client during development.

Question 20

Will the modifications affect comfort or fit?

Accepted Answer

We strive to maintain the original fit and comfort characteristics whenever possible while enhancing the design.

Question 21

Are the materials stitched or glued?

Accepted Answer

Whenever appropriate, we prioritize traditional construction methods, including stitching and reconstruction techniques, while also utilizing specialized adhesives where necessary.

Question 22

How long does a custom pair last?

Accepted Answer

With proper care, our projects can last for many years. We are happy to provide care recommendations specific to your piece.

Question 23

Can damaged customs be repaired or restored?

Accepted Answer

In many cases, yes. We offer consultations for repairs, restorations, and refreshes of previous projects.

Accepted Answer

Each project represents hours of design, material sourcing, craftsmanship, experimentation, and hand construction. You’re investing in a unique piece created specifically for you.

Question 25

What determines the final price?

Accepted Answer

Pricing depends on complexity, materials, sourcing requirements, construction techniques, and the amount of labor involved.

Question 26

Do I provide the sneakers or are they included?

Accepted Answer

Both options are available. We can either source the base product for you or work on a pair you provide.

Question 27

Is there a minimum project price?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our projects begin at a minimum investment amount depending on the type of customization requested.

Question 28

Do you offer payment plans or deposits?

Accepted Answer

Projects typically require a deposit to begin, with the remaining balance due upon completion. Alternative payment arrangements may be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Question 29

How long does a project take?

Accepted Answer

Timelines vary depending on complexity, materials, and current workload. Estimated lead times are provided before production begins.

Question 30

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Simply submit an inquiry through our contact form with your idea, inspiration, or objective. From there, we’ll begin building your story together.
