The Method
Process
From brief to delivery. No shortcuts. This is how a Last Annex piece is made.
01
Inquiry
Share the object, story, reference, or idea.
02
Concept
Last Annex develops the creative direction, material approach, and reconstruction strategy.
03
Build
The piece is crafted through material exploration, handwork, and precise execution.
04
Delivery
The final object is completed, documented, and delivered as a one-of-one piece.

01
Submission, scope, agreement.
Brief
Every commission begins with a brief - a structured conversation about vision, silhouette, materials, and intent. Juan Diego reads every brief personally. He responds within 48 hours with a scope confirmation and a price.

02
Sketches, swatches, material sourcing.
Design Review
Once the scope is agreed, Juan Diego begins material sourcing. Leather samples, dye swatches, reference images - shared with the client before a single cut is made. No surprises at delivery.

03
Careful deconstruction of the donor pair.
Disassembly
Where the build requires it - restoration, mixed-material construction, or archive pair work - the donor pair is carefully disassembled. Each panel tracked, documented, and treated with the respect the original deserves.

04
Paint, dye, leatherwork, cut & sew.
Hand-Finishing
This is where the build lives. Hand-painting, dyeing, leather cutting, stitching - all by Juan Diego. No production team. No shortcuts. Every layer is applied with intention and allowed to dry fully before the next begins.

05
Juan Diego signs off personally.
Quality Control
Before a pair ships, Juan Diego lives with it for 24 hours. He wears it. He photographs it in natural light. He looks for anything that doesn't sit right. If it doesn't pass, the step is redone - not patched.

06
Packaging, COA card, worldwide shipping.
Delivery
The pair ships in custom packaging with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Tracked worldwide. A progress photo series is sent to the client at delivery - documentation of the entire arc, from raw pair to finished object.
